Booking choice: The Alhambra night tour, from $67 per person. Check dates Tour details
The Alhambra runs two separate night visits: the Nasrid Palaces, and the Generalife with its gardens. They are different tickets, on different calendars, and neither one includes the Alcazaba. A third ticket, Alhambra Experiences, joins a night in the palaces to a day in the gardens.
Dates, hours and prices are from the Patronato's official list of visit types and the ticket shop, read in October 2026.
The quick answer
The night palaces ticket (EUR 12.73) runs all year: Friday and Saturday 20:00 to 21:30 from 15 October to 31 March, Tuesday to Saturday 22:00 to 23:30 from 1 April to 14 October. The night gardens ticket (EUR 8.48) runs only in spring and autumn, and its 2026 season ends on Saturday 14 November. For a first visit, take the night palaces or the EUR 22.27 Alhambra Experiences, which adds the gardens the next day.

Can you visit the Alhambra at night?
Yes. The Patronato sells a night visit to the Nasrid Palaces all year and a night visit to the Generalife gardens in spring and autumn.
Night visits are full official visits with a smaller footprint: you walk a fixed route through one part of the monument, with the lights doing the work. Like the day tickets, they are named, need the original ID at the gate and can't be refunded or changed.
Two combined tickets include a night visit too: Alhambra Experiences (EUR 22.27) and Dobla de Oro Night (EUR 23.06), which adds the Andalusi monuments of the Albaicín.
Night palaces or night gardens: which should you book?
The night palaces, for almost everyone. The night gardens are a lovely extra, not a substitute.
Side by side:
| Night visit, Nasrid Palaces | Night visit, Gardens and Generalife | |
|---|---|---|
| Price online | EUR 12.73 | EUR 8.48 |
| Route | Mexuar, Comares Palace, Palace of the Lions, Lindaraja corridor; Charles V Palace, Puerta de la Justicia | Access pavilion, walnut walk, New Gardens, Generalife palace |
| 15 Oct to 31 Mar | Fri and Sat, 20:00 to 21:30 | Fri and Sat, 20:00 to 21:30, until 14 Nov only |
| 1 Apr to 14 Oct | Tue to Sat, 22:00 to 23:30 | Tue to Sat, 22:00 to 23:30, Apr, May and 1 Sep to 14 Oct only |
| Alcazaba | No | No |
| Best for | The palaces lit up, with far fewer people | A short evening walk on a second visit |
The night palaces cover the same rooms as the day route. The night gardens skip the Alcazaba and the Partal, and from mid-November to the end of March, and in June, July and August, they don't run at all.
What are the Alhambra night visit dates for 2026-27?
Night palaces: Fridays and Saturdays 20:00 to 21:30 until 31 March 2027, then Tuesday to Saturday 22:00 to 23:30. Night gardens: Fridays and Saturdays until 14 November 2026, then back from 1 April 2027.
- Now to 14 November 2026: both night visits, Friday and Saturday evenings. The last night gardens dates of the year are Friday 13 and Saturday 14 November.
- 15 November 2026 to 31 March 2027: night palaces only, Friday and Saturday, 20:00 to 21:30. The Alhambra closes on 25 December and 1 January, both Fridays this winter, so those two nights drop out.
- 1 April to 14 October 2027: night palaces Tuesday to Saturday, 22:00 to 23:30. Night gardens on the same evenings in April and May, then again from 1 September.
The night ticket office opens an hour before the visit (19:00 in winter, 21:00 in summer) and sells same-day tickets while any are left. Our autumn night visits post tracks the last garden evenings of 2026.

What do you see on the Nasrid Palaces night visit?
The full palace route: the Mexuar, the Court of the Myrtles, the Hall of the Ambassadors, the Court of the Lions and the Lindaraja corridor, plus the Charles V Palace and the Puerta de la Justicia on the way.
The lighting is low and warm. It picks out the stucco and the wooden ceilings and leaves the corners dark, so the rooms feel bigger and quieter than by day. The pools turn into mirrors. With only the night ticket holders on the hill, you get long stretches of courtyard to yourself.
Guests on the night tour keep coming back to the same word. One wrote: "less crowded and incredibly atmospheric". Another liked how "the contrast lighting makes the beautiful details pop".
Want the stories behind the rooms? The night tour pairs the Nasrid Palaces after dark with an official guide, tickets included.
Check dates for the Alhambra night tourWhat do you miss on a night visit?
The Alcazaba, the Partal gardens and, on the palaces ticket, the Generalife. You also lose the colours of the tiles and the views over Granada by daylight.
The night route is one part of the monument, not all of it. The Alcazaba, with the Torre de la Vela and the best views of the city, is a daytime-only visit; it reopened on 23 September 2026 on an adapted route after the August earthquakes. The tilework colours and the painted details read better in daylight, and the Generalife's water gardens need the sun.
Our take: the night palaces are a wonderful second look, and a good first look if the day is sold out. If you only have one visit, do the day, or take the ticket below that gives you both.

What is the Alhambra Experiences ticket?
A night visit to the Nasrid Palaces plus a daytime visit to the Alcazaba, the Partal and the Generalife the following day, for EUR 22.27, the same price as the General.
The ticket shop describes it as two visits: the palaces on the chosen night, then the rest of the monument from 08:30 until closing the next day. In winter that means a Friday or Saturday night, then Saturday or Sunday in the gardens. You see everything the General shows you, with the palaces in their night version.
It is the best trick on this page. When the daytime General is gone, Alhambra Experiences is often still on sale, and it gives you the full monument instead of half of it. Our sold-out guide has the other options.

Is the guided Alhambra night tour on Viator worth it?
Yes, if you want the history explained and can't get night tickets yourself. It costs $67 against EUR 12.73 for the official ticket.
The night tour by Sultana-tours runs two hours with an official guide and a radio headset when needed, up to 30 people. The ticket is included; you meet the guide in front of the entrance gate, and confirmation comes within 48 hours. The listing names the Nasrid Palaces and the Generalife; from 15 November to 31 March the official calendar has no night garden visits, so winter tours stay in the palaces.
It is non-refundable. You pay for a guide and for a ticket you could not buy yourself. On a sold-out night, that is a fair deal.

The Nasrid Palaces lit up after dark with an official guide, tickets included, up to 30 people. Non-refundable once booked.

Arrive 20 to 30 minutes early with your original ID, bring a warm layer from October to March, and plan your way down the hill before you go up.
- Getting up: the C30 minibus from Plaza Isabel la Católica, a taxi from the centre, or the 20 to 30 minute walk up the Cuesta de Gomérez from Plaza Nueva.
- Getting down: the same walk downhill takes about 20 minutes on a dark woodland path; take a phone torch, or book a taxi.
- Cold: the Alhambra stands on a hill at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, and winter evenings are cold. A jacket matters more than a camera.
- Bags: the day rules apply, no backpacks or bags bigger than 40 by 40 cm.
A night palaces visit pairs well with a daytime gardens ticket for the Alcazaba and the Generalife, EUR 25.46 for both.
Frequently asked questions
What days is the Alhambra open at night?
From 15 October to 31 March, Friday and Saturday, 20:00 to 21:30. From 1 April to 14 October, Tuesday to Saturday, 22:00 to 23:30. The night gardens visit runs only in spring and autumn.
How much is the Alhambra night visit?
EUR 12.73 online for the night Nasrid Palaces and EUR 8.48 for the night gardens and Generalife. Alhambra Experiences, the night palaces plus the gardens next day, costs EUR 22.27.
Does the night visit include the Alcazaba?
No. Neither night ticket includes the Alcazaba. It can only be visited in daytime, with the General, the gardens ticket or the day part of Alhambra Experiences.
Is the Alhambra better at night or during the day?
For a first visit, the day: you see the whole monument and the colours. The night palaces are quieter and atmospheric, and the best fallback when daytime tickets are sold out.
